Anna Critz Rubin

provides client service leadership as Vice President of Connections for The Communicators. Anna has spent 20 years helping corporations, associations, and organizations connect people and ideas. Her strategic planning and innovative ideas have taken her from the U.S. Department of Education to the halls of Congress where she has learned the importance of making the right connections and packaging your message properly.  Anna helps The Communicators’ clients turn their ideas into actionable, measurable efforts as she develops clear paths with creative strategies to achieve their goals.  Clients depend on Anna’s leadership to market their services, develop communication strategies for various customer bases, establish corporate partnerships, incorporate technology solutions, and launch new programs or products.

Prior to joining The Communicators, Anna headed up the Washington, DC Office for ACT, an educational assessment and workforce development company. In that capacity, she oversaw government affairs and federal relations and was responsible for developing and implementing plans of action for acquiring new business.  Anna advanced the use of ACT’s programs, services, and expertise by identifying and promoting relationships and partnerships with professional education associations, federal agencies, and organizations.  ACT relied on Anna’s expertise to identify and propose strategies for meeting assessment-related educational needs and performance-based workforce needs, pinpoint research topics, write grant proposals, develop collaborative relationships, and ascertain evolving federal policies and trends in education and workforce development.

During her career, Anna also directed operations for The Congressional Award, a public-private partnership created by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative, and service in America's youth.   Anna designed organizational and public relations strategies for program implementation and information dissemination.  The Congressional Award saw substantial growth as Anna assessed goals and objectives, evaluated performance, and identified areas for modification.

Anna’s leadership and communication skills are apparent in the roles she has filled for a variety of organizations.  She began her career at the United States Department of Education where she had the privilege to handle scheduling and briefing activities for the Secretary of Education.  Anna prepared detailed itineraries, coordinated logistics, and wrote briefings for the Secretary.  Anna divided her years at the Department between the Secretary’s Office and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education.  In the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, Anna managed projects and researched policy issues.  She also directed the Presidential Scholars Program, one of the Nation’s highest honors for high school students.

She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband and two daughters.  Anna enjoys reading Nelson DeMille novels, writes poetry, drinks too much coffee, and spends most of her free time playing in the backyard.  If pushing a swing was an Olympic sport, Anna is confident that she would be a gold medalist.
